Speech Language Pathologists
Upon completing her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Connecticut, Debra took employment with the Southeastern Hearing and Speech Clinic in Norwich, CT and the Morton Speech Clinic in Hamden, CT. Shortly thereafter she worked with the Wethersfield school system assisting Speech Language Pathologists at the preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels. Sensing a desire to specialize in pediatrics, Debra began her work with Reachout, Inc. in 1997 where she has extended her knowledge of child development to families and caregivers. Her professional passion is fueled by her desire to create a partnership with families and assist parents in learning how to foster their child’s unique potential. Debra is honored to work alongside her talented colleague and relishes the opportunity to learn something new from them everyday. Professional special interests include: verbal apraxia, oral-motor/feeding development, sensory play, autism spectrum disorder and behavioral shaping. In addition to Debra’s dedicated work at Reachout, Inc., she and her yellow Labrador Retriever are registered as a therapy animal team with Pet Partners of America. Throughout her voluntary work with Pet Partners, Debra shares the benefits of the human-animal bond. Debra also holds a certificate in pediatric yoga and strives to teach the importance of mindfulness, movement, breath, and relaxation.
